Master Your Minutes: The Ultimate Guide to Prioritizing Your Time with The Unlimited Template!

How to Prioritize Your Time

Overview

  • This seems hard because we believe what we are doing is High-Value work and no one says, oh let me do the thing that will help my startup the least.
  • This is an exercise you need to do and monitor your work week over week and compare that with KPIs and how it affected them.
  • Start by creating a running google docs and add the table below and add the tasks you need to do.
  • For example, if your goal for next week is to get 5 new paying customers add that to the table among other things.
  • Then in the Impact Column Score them by High, Medium & Low in terms of how much impact it will bring to business.

Impact Weekly Goals

  • High
  • Medium
  • Low

The Complexity of a task and How Long it will take complete

Easy (10 - 7) = Less than a day

Medium (6 - 4) = Days to complete

Hard (1- 3) = Might NOT complete in a Week

Start Scoring By Easy, Medium & Hard in the Complexity Column.

  • Easy
  • Medium
  • Hard

  • Focus on High/Easy and High/Medium
  • Avoid Low/Hard and Low/Medium
  • Don’t Do Too Many Things at once.

Write weekly updates

On the running doc when you do weekly reviews of your tasks

  • Look at your Primary KPIs, what were your (Actual Numbers Vs Goals Numbers)
  • What was your biggest obstacle to growth?
  • Task that were accomplished + and how much Impact did it had
  • What are your Biggest Learnings

Once in awhile review your weekly updates and see

  • Did low-value work and fake progress creep in?
  • Consistent blockers to growth?
  • Completing tasks in a timely manner
  • If the task is too complex and you are doing this constantly,  you need to learn how to break down your tasks into medium and easy tasks.
